Mindfulness improves the perception of and the response to stress and fosters emotional intelligence, leadership quality and beneficial interactions with business partners and stakeholders.


Recent Research has shown that mindfulness training improves leadership capacities that are important in the 21st century : resilience, the capacity for collaboration and the ability to lead in complex environments. Five key skills, developed through mindfulness training and practice, stood out : emotional regulation, perspective taking, empathy, focus and adaptability.

Being successful in complex conditions is the biggest challenge for today’s organizations and their leaders, because value creation can’t be achieved anymore by following the rules and management concepts of the industrial age. Command and Control is an illusion. Value creation is maximized with self chosen engagement by all employees in an organization. The ability to recognize complexity in daily problems and interactions and addressing complexity with the right approach and impactful methods, requires mindful leadership and secures the organization’s longterm value creation.

The Mindful Journey


The ability to connect to oneself is fundamental in the practice of Mindfulness. In the program of MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction), Jon Kabat-Zinn gives a detailed roadmap in his books for daily practice.

 

By practising mindfulness, we get in touch with our inner landscape of thoughts, emotions and bodily sensations. We discover that there is a space created when we do not identify ourselves with our thoughts, emotions and sensations. This space allows for a response of choice instead of an automatic reaction.
